About the performance

When I was ten, I had no idea what I was going to do next. I was just here and now and it was happening. Someone always showed up, pushing me on a little farther, who gave me good advice. Staying meek always helped… to maintain the illusion, to not let them see the pain. When things are changing, you kind of forget the pain. She was raised that way since childhood. I don't really know how to stand up for myself. I'm not that ambitious. But it was a beautiful 18 years. And then it all happened at once. They took my role, cut me off like a baby from it's mother. They redid my costume, and I returned my crown. And finished in silence. It hurt. But I can take a lot. I can take it!

The Tantehorse ensemble continues the Invisible series about women- artists who have disappeared from the spotlight, be it due to political changes, age, the end of a career, motherhood or an uneven starting point.
